What we do Wednesday – funding vital medical equipment.

Thanks to your support, fundraising and generous donations we have been able to purchase a new Tecotherm cooling mattress for the Special Care Baby Unit at PRH in Haywards Heath.

This special system delivers therapeutic hypothermia which is a recognised treatment for infants with hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy. The treatment consists of cooling the infant’s
core temperature for a period for 72hrs, before slowly rewarming.

Our committee member Heidi’s son Forrest received this treatment at TMBU https://www.earlybirth.co.uk/stories/.

We are so pleased that PRH SCBU now has a new cooling mattress available for babies who need it. 💛
