Worthing 10K – Marie Byrne smashes personal best running time and fundraising target!
Published 10th October 2021
Marie Byrne experienced both of her children needing neonatal care in TMBU. Her daughter Billie was born 11 weeks early weighing 3lbs 2oz and spent her first 7 weeks in the unit back in 2013. Her son James was born at almost term in 2016 and received care in his first 24 hours on TMBU for an infection.
Today Marie did an absolutely amazing thing and ran the Worthing 10K beating her personal best time and completing the race in 59 mins 40 seconds, coming 824/1247. She has raised an incredible £285 for The EBA, smashing her target of £200!
Marie says: “I am forever grateful for the amazing work TMBU do and the amazing support from both TMBU & EBA to support and care for, babies, families, and staff on the unit and I want to raise as much as possible for this amazing charity.”
