September is NICU Awareness month
Published 2nd September 2021
Every year, over 100,000 babies are cared for in neonatal units in the UK because they have either been born prematurely (before 37 weeks of pregnancy), or full term (after 37 weeks) but sick. This means that around 1 in 7 babies born in the UK are admitted to a neonatal unit each year. This is an experience few families are prepared for and it can be a huge strain and emotional rollercoaster. NICU Awareness month is designed to honor these babies and families and the healthcare professionals who care for them. Over the next month keep following our social media to see our regular posts highlighting what The EBA does to try to make a positive difference to those experiencing the NICU. Also check out the What We Do section on our website. Also please feel free to contact us with your NICU story if you’d like to share your journey, and the impact that the staff on the units and maybe the work of The EBA has had on you.
The Early Birth Association are registered on Virgin Money Giving,
where you are able to make a donation directly to us and set up your
own fundraising page for any events that you do.
