August Bank Holiday Fundraising – 90 mile walk and family fun day!
Published 19th July 2021

We thought we’d kick off Monday with an update on a some amazing fundraising events that are happening over the August bank Holiday Weekend.
Craig Wallbridge is proud Dad to baby Tommy, who was born 16 weeks premature 24+2 weeks gestation weighing just 720g. When he was just 7 days old Tommy was transferred to Trevor Mann Baby Unit for lifesaving bowel surgery and spent 5 and a half months in Brighton.
Craig is undertaking a big challenge this year with fundraising walk of 90 miles from The Royal Sussex County Hospital to their local hospital The Ashford William Harvey Hospital in Kent.
The walk will take place over 4 days from Friday 27th August, sleeping under the stars and then end with a big fun family day on Monday 30th August.
All money raised will be split between three charities which helped baby Tommy and the family. These are The EBA, Ronald McDonald House Brighton, and Tiny Toes who support the baby unit at Ashford Hospital.
To read more about baby Tommy’s story and Craig’s fundraising, and to make a donation please visit the Justgiving Page.
A huge thank you to Craig for organising these amazing fundraising feats, and to everyone who has donated so far. The TMBU provides neonatal surgery services for Sussex and a proportion of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Neonatal Network, so extra funds to support babies who need surgery makes such a huge difference. Thanks to your fundraising and donations, we able to fund vital equipment and also provide all the items that makes the stay in hospital more comfortable and supportive for babies and families.
