Dad’s mental health

Ahead of Father’s Day, we just wanted to acknowledge and provide some information on Dad’s mental health – having a premature or poorly baby can take a huge toll and Dad’s can sometimes face extra difficulties by feeling like they need to remain strong for everyone, and sometimes don’t feel able to easily admit to what’s going on.

The following recent article from BBC News talks about a Dad’s experiences after witnessing his daughter’s traumatic birth and subsequent NICU stay due to Group B Strep Infection, and has some links to suggestions for sources of support.

You might also find some of the Dad’s experiences on our website ‘Baby Stories’ section helpful to read, and don’t forget our page listing sources of help and support.
