An Update and a big THANK YOU!
Published 24th May 2020
Just a little update to let our supporters know that we are continuing to raise money and fully support the units during this difficult time.
The units have faced many additional challenges over the last few months but as The EBA is run solely by volunteers, we remain active. Whilst we have had to change the way in which we support the units, we are continuing to provide the items and services needed.
We are still conducting our regular coffee mornings for parents. These are now being held virtually via video conferencing and we are hosting them more frequently so that parents can access that support when needed.
Supplies of refreshments for parents and staff; tea, coffee, biscuits, fruit, breakfast cereals etc are being collected by unit staff from our home addresses and delivered each week.
We have been able to continue with supplying our handmade laundry and memory bags, knitted hats and blankets as well as muslins and fleece blankets. Parent toiletry sets and transport snack bags are still being made up and supplied to the units as well as toiletries for the staff.
We have doubled the number of Mind Clinic sessions that we fund each month, to enable staff at both TMBU and PRH to access this wonderful counselling service when needed.
The fantastic success of our iPad campaign has enabled parents to stay in contact with their babies when absent from the units with the wonderful unit staff taking time to send photographs and videos to families.
The EBA has also been able to mark the occasions of Mother’s Day and Easter with a gift bag containing gifts for the baby, parents and siblings. Craft items for the staff to make those personal cards to parents from their baby has also been supplied.
We are still here, supporting in any capacity that we can and are only able to continue due to your ongoing support. So a huge THANK YOU to you all 💛
